With this first, post apocalyptic issue of 2013 we’d like to wish the readers health and prosperity and good luck in the New Year. During the last two weeks, more than just a handful of fanciers emailed us with the following text, taken supposedly from the website of some newly launched magazine: “The Sporting Dog Journal have failed to quench the thirst of American readers who want to know what is going on, trending or working in their own backyard. Therefore, this magazine is dedicated to them”. Yeah, been there, done that...now listen everybody, in July 2011, we decided to limit the reports of contests results only to those that are of historical value because we really didn’t wanted to provide added ammunition that could be used against any dogmen of the world. A step for the sake of everyone’s safety. As you know, we still continue to announce Champions, Grand Champions and Register of Merit dogs to this very day (all references to competition and winning are in regard to legal sporting activities) but we consider that publishing match reports would be irresponsible and it would bring unnecessary heat and attention. Of course, publishing a magazine is not a crime but if you do publish a magazine about Bulldogs, NO MATTER HOW INNOCUOUS THE CONTENT MAY BE, you will be painting a HUGE BULLSEYE on your forehead. Times and conditions have changed...just ask Mr. Jack Kelly, Bob Stevens, Fat Bill or TL Williams. Today, in the Sporting Dog Journal, only legal and socially acceptable sporting activities are reported. You are welcome to send in your results!
This month we’ve got some real goodies for you, including a massive, 18 page interview with Tarheel Matt, illustrated with many previously-unpublished photographs!
Allright, now dig in and find out who has been awarded the Dog Of The Year 2012 & Dogman Of The Year 2012 award... See y’all next month! Remember, everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.... Yours Truly L.C.
