Wow. now that is profound. They are looking for hand outs to kill a bunch of dogs that shouldn't be in their little cages to begin with. Irony is a big pill to swallow I reckon. Who is George Orwell though?

  2. propagandist (author) who wrote the book animal farm. where the animals took over the humans. he actually had many works considered to be great if you share his idiology.

Thanks, Never read Animal Farm. I either don't share it or don't know I share it. Can't say as I don't know what his idiology is. I couldn't even take a guess at what the man thinks.

  4. he was a socialist
not a knock on you attila but i am supposed to be the uneducated one lol

Socialism refers to a broad array of doctrines or political movements that envisage a socio-economic system in which property and the distribution of wealth are subject to social control. [1] As an economic system, socialism is usually associated with state or collective ownership of the means of production. This control may be either direct, exercised through popular collectives such as workers' councils, or it may be indirect, exercised on behalf of the people by the state; however, in the latter situation, the issues of the nature of the state and who controls the state become crucial.

The modern socialist movement had its origin largely in the working class movement of the late-19th century. In this period, the term "socialism" was first used in connection with European social critics who condemned capitalism and private property. For Karl Marx, who helped establish and define the modern socialist movement, socialism implied the abolition of money, markets, capital, and labor as a commodity.

It is difficult to make generalizations about the diverse array of doctrines and movements that have been referred to as "socialist", for the various adherents of contemporary socialist movements do not agree on a common doctrine or program. As a result, the movement has split into different and sometimes opposing branches, particularly between moderate socialists and communists. Since the 19th century, socialists have differed in their vision of socialism as a system of economic organization. Some socialists have championed the complete nationalization of the means of production, or decentralized collective ownership in the form of cooperatives or workers councils. Social democrats have proposed selective nationalization of key industries within the framework of mixed economies. Stalinists and Maoists insisted on the creation of Soviet-style command economies under strong central state direction. Others advocate "market socialism", in which social control of property exists within the framework of market economics and private property.

No I have a theory that if in higher elevation and lots of mountains to exercize on that Alaska will produce a tougher skinned and super breathing APBT when brought down to average elevation in teh lower 48
Think of those Kenyan runners with huge lungs from the mountains...and Nepalese Sherpas in the Himalayas...a dog with that natural gift from birth being in thin ait will have such a strong heart and lungs it could breath underwater.....and the clean air huge hunting grounds and access to trails and space to work on with no people around is priceless...sorry Alaska stays whether you go or not the Mississippi Manglers still are taking your van...or we can build a machine that has a treadmill in it and we can control the oxygen level inside and reduce them slowly...to like 75% then even 50 and train the lungs that way...heart and system minitors provided of course....id be scientific about it and all...so help me build a machine or get some sweaters and wood....

yes pretty much...and we will need a welder...maybe we will be close enough to work on it together one day...[IMG] then we could let Alaska just thaw out and get taken up by the Illegal aliens.....and say screw it.

When I mentioned George Orwell I was thinking of the book: 1984, about a totalitrian state that uses double speak to control people. Solgans like : Slavery is freedom, love is hate. The book gave rise to the phrase, Orwellian to describe political doublespeak, like the "Humane society" using the word rescue to describe killing a bunch of dogs. And soliciting funds using their doublespeak. PETA is the same way, they want to help animals, by wiping out all domesticated animals that can't cut it in the wild, with Pitbulldogs at the tip-top of their hit list.

A little add on, although Orwell was a socialist, his main books, Animal farm and 1984 were critiques of Stalins USSR. So he was very critical of Stalinistic communism.

If Alaska and the rest of the north thawed the Illegal aliens would be floating belly up in the ocean. I would be on my little island in the ozarks wondering if my little bass boat will ever make it to the next island. Have to put a set of pontoons on the van. And a PTO to run a propeller. Yep going to need the welder. lol I figure you'll have to come this way to higher ground lol. Wouldn't that be something. Bet that BSL crap would end then. All them town house delling peta folk would drown trying to swim with their hemp weaved sandals, beads and crap. lol

    Pennsooner,

I can't see where socialism and communism are any less evil than the other. Or to say neither is better or worse than the other in my perception of quality of life. One invites a more lazy society and the other inslaves it. Both seem doomed to fail in my eyes. As our own becomes more socialistic we see the threads of society unraveling before our eyes. Those that feel so inclined to deside what is fitting for us to handle and do force their ideals on those that wish to be left alone. Once they have it where every one is like a drone and fits some SOP like a drone America will fall or starve to death. I will be in the hills hiding from it or dead from fighting it. I am actually surprised that Cuba has lasted so long as a communist state, island. I pray the next leader isn't that way. It is supposed to be a beautiful place. Be neat to be able to visit it in my life time.

    Marty,

100 dogs is some work now. I have been there a few times too. But I wore out after a while and thinned out a bunch. Takes some motivation. I tip my hat to any one that can keep that pace. You got it going on Bro.

Attila: I was just giving background on Orwells books. They were written as critiques of the Sovet Union. But they are important books since they gave rise to the prase "orwellean" to describe a certian way language can be used. I just found it ironic that the humane society was using the word "rescue" to describe the killing off of 300 some odd dogs. Orwellean language for sure.

Oh, I agree, and it might get interesting, Orwell was no wuss, he fought in the Spanish Civil war. However, I do think you might like his books, they are often favorites among conservatives. He gave rise to the phrase "big brother" to mean big, totalitarian government, and his books are some of the best critiques of the Soviet system.
