Chattanooga, TN -- A woman said her boyfriend became angry at her and assaulted her, including siccing a pit bulldog on her.

Rochelle Baker said she went to the residence of Ryan Neal Brooks at 8139 Old Lee Highway on Dec. 21 and spotted another female in his bed.

She said he became upset when she questioned him about it.

Ms. Baker said Brooks pushed her outside, started hitting her and pushed her to the ground. She said he pushed her face in the dirt and released the dog on her. She said the dog bit her right leg and left thigh.

She said Brooks threatened to kill her while hitting her, and that he also hit her vehicle with a tire iron. She said her children were in the car.

Brooks is due to appear in General Sessions Court on Feb. 4 at 8:30 a.m.

In another case, police said they went to 4310 Howell Road on New Year's Eve on a report of a shots fired.

An officer said he found Larry L. Boyd in the backyard with a shotgun and 12 spent shell casings.

The officer said Boyd "admitted to shooting the gun, and he did not think it was bad. He asked, 'if it was bad, then why do they sell guns in the city?'"

Boyd is due in General Sessions Court on Jan. 20 at 1:30 p.m. on a charge of reckless endangerment.
