It sucks a section of land seems to make people better emcees to some people. There are sick spitters everywhere. There are garbage spitters everywhere too. Beats, styles, and trends vary but people are people whether from N.Y., ATL, Texas, or Cali.

 

Its more to it than a section of land... NY just has a higher level of competition, its the biggest city in the country and the birth place of hiphop. You cannot honestly tell me that its harder for you to stand out lyrically in some town in georgia or texas than it would to stand out lyrically in a borough of NY. Its so many people that have been intune with the culture for a half a century. That grew up traveling from park to park, hood to hood, borough to borough just to display they sharpest lyrics and rhymes. You can't get that in other cities like you can in NY, the culture is just deep thats all. Not to take anything away from any other region, cuz the styles vary, But the level of comp. just ain't the same everywhere else. If you just dig a good flow and some nice beats then thats cool, thats what it is in some places. But i like some shit that makes me wanna press rewind.
