well, my mom has been dating this very nice guy for quite a while, I've basically known him my entire life and it didn't go all to well between them lately and appearently they are back together and she stayed over for the night.
I told her I would have appreciated if she would have just called or send me a text message to let me know.

id hit up some self defence classes at the minimum.
if your worried about the weapons laws use your brain.
i used to live in a pretty rough neigbour hood and as a skinny kid used to get picked on and rolled for my shoes a few times by older groups of kids, i allways had good shoes and clothing because i had a sponsor thru my sporting talents. running didnt allways help when there are ten older guys chasing you!

I can defend myself quite well, but I just don't want to anymore... you know what I mean?
I'm getting sick of actually trying to defend me with my bare hands and ending up with a broken ankle or nose or bruised from head to toe while the others leave laughing their asses off.
no way I can do anything against a guy twice my size with my bare hands...
the problem is our street is SO calm while a couple blocks further you're in the big city. people take advantage of it to steal and rob us.
if I were to take a picture of our street and show it you would almost think I was living out in the country lol

if i carried a bat with me on its own and i used it for defence i would be carrying a deadly weapon. if i carried a bat a ball and a mitt, i was just a kid coming home from practice who happened to use his sports equiptment when he felt under threat.
same deal.

the other thing you have to think about as a woman and guns, is would you be prepared to go thru the worst ie, sexual assault in your own home just because you are too afraid to own a firearm?

I'm not afraid to carry, I can't legally carry nor own a firearm.
gun control has only done one thing and that's keeping guns out of the hands of honest people and leave them "defenseless" IMO

if I were to have a permit and say I wanted to go shooting tonight, I would have to carry my weapon in the trunk of the car, unloaded of course and the bullets say in the (locked!) glove compartment.

you dont have to kill someone because they enter your house, get a pistol, get some lessons and make it a bit of a hobby, the more you do the calmer you will shoot.
a .38 in the leg or arm is enough to put off pretty much any crim in the world.
a second one is a certainty.

I would LOVE to be able to own a firearm.
I have always wanted to take lessons and turn it into a hobby.
my grandpa, my uncle and my dad all were in the army (my dad still is, but not full time) and I have a HUGE interest in maybe joining to.
I've always been attracted to boys stuff than the girly stuff.
never played with dolls, I was the kid that would roll in the mud and play with cars and stuff lmao :p

or .... you could allways get another set of keys cut.lol.

the keys are back where they belong! when my mom came home but back nonetheless :p
