Connor prexicted an 8 rd K.O in the beginning...DIDN'T HAPPEN LOL then when it was 8 OZ gloves he predicted Floyd would be done in 4....DIDN'T HAPPEN LOL How come knobody called him out on it ?....Floyd was to tiny had skinny legs and was brittle LMAO!For a guy who couldn't punch he Knocked Connor's ass out! Floyd must have a pretty good chin for a guy Connor outweighed by 25 pounds on fight night...I have never seen someone so happy about losing when he predicted a K.O lol

It's called boxing....Leonard,Ali and many others knew how to rope a dope....be happy he got knocked out in round 10 SMH....His punches cant hurt me said Connor....I really wished they let Floyd knock him through the ropes but for the fighters health it was stopped when he no longer could defend himself...Mayweather they say landed 58% of power punches and Mcgregor 25% nuff said

Holm has held several welterweight boxing titles,[22] been highly regarded as one of the best female welterweights in the world, and is considered among the best of all time, by some.[23][24] She also has been named Ring Magazine female Fighter of the Year, twice in consecutive years in 2005 and 2006.
In June 2008 she became the undisputed welterweight champion and holder of belts from 140 to 154 by defeating former champMary Jo Sanders by decision.
Holly Holmes deserves more credit the Connor....she was a Champ in both!

Ya rabbit punches and a uppercut that hit Floyd in the chest that slid up to push his chin.

A lot of hard biting barnstormers gas out from extreme fatigue and quit to an ear dog thats just part of an ear dogs style/plan.........Floyd was in NO danger to receive a standing 8 count from tucking and turning.......Conor on the other hand was in danger and could of received the standing 8 count but in todays boxing matches the standing 8 count is no longer needed as the ref usually determines if the fighter is able to continue or not and conor could not continue due to extreme fatigue.

    Just watched it again.

Still the same thoughts. The flurry that ended it in 1o could have happened from 4 on.

On the second viewing I thought the stoppage was a bit premature. He was beat but no more so that he was in round 9. At the 1:25 left in the 9th he nearly double legged Floyd on the hold. I thought he was flashing back.

It was even more boring the second time.

His usual style is turning like Hank. His defense is like how I understand Bolio's style to have been. Making ppl look silly. Or maybe that Silver dog from Europe, I saw him on tape. You see we're im goin. Great defense, ok offense.

I must admit the size difference had me nervous for Mayweather but it was soon clear to see Conor had nothing on his shots at all. He doesn't plant his feet properly and has no shoulder snap whatsoever, just shows the difference in striking ability of the two sports.

It's a different ball game knocking out another UFC fighter who walks on to your shot with his chin out and trying to knock out a boxer.

MMA consist mainly of 3 fighting styles .....for hands stand up its BOXING because its very effective.....For kicks/knees/elbows and clinch its Muay Thai because its very effective and last but not least is some type of jujitsu or ground game because its very effective.

Each art is very respected in there own field and there are champion specialist fighters in each of there own respected fields/style....Most times if a MMA fighter is going to fight a champion boxer with boxing rules and regulations then the ADVANTAGE goes to the boxer because he specifically specializes in boxing.....If a MMA fighter goes and fights a champion Muay Thai fighter with Muay Thai rules and regulations then the ADVANTAGE goes to the Muay Thai champion...and if a MMA fighter goes to fight a champion Jujitsu practitioner with jujitsu rules and regulations then the ADVANTAGE goes to the Jujitsu fighter.....each sport has different rules and regulations which caters specifically to that particular sport/style.

The misconception about MMA fighter is that one thinks that a MMA fighter is suppose to have better hands then a boxer or better kicks/knees/elbows and clinch then a Muay Thai fighter or better grappling then a Jujitsu practitioner which is usually not the case.....What usually happens is if a MMA fighter is fighting a boxer and he is getting out boxed he will turn to either Muay Thai or grappling to counter the boxer......if his opponent is a bad ass Muay Thai champion from Thailand then he will use grappling on a Muay Thai fighter.....its very rare that one is super skilled in all three fighting styles.....Rhonda was a olympic judo champion hence why she excelled in jujitsu/grappling but she only a one trick style and got KO by Holms because Ronda stand up sucks. LOL

The fight was a boxing match though, Conor wanted a boxing match (massive payday.)

I used to think a UFC fighter would have more chance of beating a boxer but now I'm not so sure.

Whilst watching the fight I was joking with my father in the 9th round that if this was a MMA fight now Mayweather would win, he was man handling McGregor in there.

Johnny Nelson mentioned before the fight that UFC fighters are fitter than boxers, didn't look like that to me Johnny boy.......

Mayweather either carried him or he wasn't 70% of his former self, he still schooled him on fighting nonetheless........

I've said it before, MMA fighters are wannabe boxers without the ability to be one.

There are a few exceptions to the rule but I think it rings true.

McGregor just fought the best defensive by the book boxer of all time! Jeez, give the man some credit!
Someone said that Floyd hurt Conor. Really? He had his hands down, Floyd clean landed I don't know how many and Conor didn't even rocked!
Conor hurt himself by gassing out and showing his inexperience... Don't forget, he had a very short fighting camp. Usually these type of matches are announced 6 months before. He had only two months to prepare against the best!
Also he did stuff that all the rest of Floyd's opponents didn't even thought they would do! By not recognising this, you show ignorance and just stuck on the result. Sugar Ray Leonard was very impressed! Not a goon, Sugar FUCKIN Ray!
Floyd also loves to give his behind a lot... lol In a real fight or even mma, he would have been killed!

Everything Floyd said in his game plan worked and everything Conor said in his game plan FAILED. LOL
Any one see any serious damage on Floyd? NOPE!!!! Considering all the TALK of knocking Floyd out in the early rounds and how conor got deadly knock out power but all that dont matter if you cant hit the target hard enough to do considerable damage to take one out.
Sugar ray impressed that conor lasted that long and did fairly well against one of the best boxers in history. Sure but this is what he is forgetting...Conor is the bigger, younger and stronger fighter......going against a older, smaller and weaker opponent.....IMAGINE if Floyd was 11 years younger bigger and stronger then Conor, THAT would of impressed me if conor did that well and lasted as long as he did IF HIS opponent was bigger , younger and stronger BUT IT WAS THE OPPOSITE way around where Conor is the bigger, younger , fighter........and if anyone thinks 11 years dont matter let me tell you I aint what I was 11 years ago as 11 years really fucking matter. LOL

Like I said in my other posts.....What style do MMA fighters use to train there hands/punching skills? A. Karate?....B. Capoiera?....or C. BOXING? LMAO

For no more boxing experience than he had his movement and footwork looked good. Compared to the greatest boxer of all time. It was not comparable. The problem was that he signed up to go with the greatest boxer of all time. A younger Floyd would have hit him more and possibly hurt him some. Floyd, even in his prime, seldom hurt people. His damage was accumulative. His skill and technique never faded in the late rounds when the next guy both tired and faded from the mounting punches.

I'm thinking Sugar Ray was impressed because he was one of the people who said Conor had zero chance other than a lucky shot. I would say he was impressed because maybe Conor was much further up the road than he gave him credit for not that he looked that good.

Styles makes fights. This had the ingredients for a super pay day for both. And that is where it ended. No lifetime MMA guy is going to walk into the ring with the greatest boxer of all time and beat him at his own game. And the same goes in reverse but even then the boxer has a better chance against a top MMA guy doing MMA.

When Conor grabbed did anyone notice how low he went. Damn near a double leg. A boxer gets a lot of weight out on the front foot for the jabs to work. The MMA guy sees that and dumps him on his back 9 out of 10 times. Defending the takedown would limit some of the effectiveness of the boxer's hands in MMA.

Rhonda Rousey is a great comparison. As long as they charge in on her and let her handle them she is the baddest female on the planet. Stand up and trade and she gets club fighter status. Conor the same.

The weightlifter in Russia that was killed by the MMA guy. He should have made a bench press challenge instead.

Mayweather didn't even fight his usual style, he walked McGregor down. He carried him in my eyes plain and simple. I wouldn't call Mayweather the best of all time either. Just imagine what a Canelo or a Golovkin would have done to McGregor, they would have killed the poor kid.

Agreed. The only difference would be McGregor would have that puncher's chance with someone punching him. I do think if he did not clip Canelo or GGG early, he does not get past 3 or 4.

    Who has been better?
