thats gonna be rough brother, arent filas illegal there? your best bet is to get one from the US or Spain and have it shipped as a different breed...shipping from brazil to europe is a PITA nowadays as EU wants the pup to have rabies shot at 6 mths of age and you cant ship unless it has rabies shot, from the U.S they are very laxed. only way you'll get to see one, lol.

To be honest no one knows what the hell a fila looks like. If you had that in a crate as a puppy or young no one would be the wiser.

No dogs are banned here, in the UK 4 breeds are banned. Lots of people think Ireland and the UK are the same, but they are not. There is certain restrictions placed on 10 breeds, but they're not very serious and only someone very stupid gets caught, they have to wear a muzzle, be on a lead, have id tags on and be walked by someone older than 16.

I would think the problem with getting an adult Fila would be that it would be already bonded with a family, so it would treat you as the stranger? which could be very messy lol.

  5. A well bread German Shepard from actual German stock works well. Most of these are bred specifically for the purpose your lookin for.I have one myself on a cable run in the front of house. He's bonded well with the family and doesnt like strangers AT ALL.If you choose this route,i could direct you to a German breeder who has excellent credentials. yes, and no. it will be bonded with its prior family but now it is out of his property with no one from his family to protect plus it is still a pup at 6 mths and even if it did go after you it couldn't possibly cause much damage. it will rebond in a short time as long as its originals owners are nowhere in sight. I bred a pup and placed him by 2.5 mths old...the guy had to return him due to his own health issues so I went to buy him back...the pup was 4 mths old and it wanted me dead, lol. I had to tell the guy to chain him to the door and go in the house...within an hour or so I was finaly able to get to the leash w/o getting bit...I took him back home and 2 weeks later his new owner cam to pick him up and he got bit, lol he was freaking scared, lol and he is a pretty well respected bulldog guy. the pup was 45lbs at 4.5mths old...that freaking litter had a fire in their arse since birth.

Cant go wrong with a well bred German Shepard! My grandma also had a Doberman Pinscher that was a great dog with people it knew in the family... Outsiders weren't welcome she would have to lock him up when people came over that it didn't know! If I needed a guard dog those two would definitely be at the top of my list.

The most important thing if you're dead serious is that you get a dog that has been BRED to do this job.

Any breed thats tan and black or black and tan seem to excel at their genetic task...
General misconception of substandard pitbulls are given the name of pitbull when often they are far from the standard of a real apbt... Just the same a majority of american german shepards, rotties and dobies arecalso substandard...
Ive seen gs,rw and db s from Europe and are far superior to what us americans consider...
The dogs from europe bred for their genetic task need no training and most are genetically primed...
For a natural gaurd dog I recommend saving up and buying from a reputable breeder preferably from europe ...

There was a guy in the San Diego area who bred German Shepherds. He was also a Marine who trained dogs for the Corp. So he was very effective in Gaurd dog work. His lines ttaced back to Europe where he purchased his dogs from. Semper Fi kennels was ehat he went by.

Many GSD, Rottweiler, Doberman etc are show bred/pet bred garbage that cannot do the job they were originally bred for. Get a dog from proven working lines, preferably with titled parents, grand parents etc. There are many breeds that can do the job GSD, Rottweiler, Doberman, Malinois, Presa Canario, American Bulldog, Dogo Argentino etc the list goes on. Some people are also breeding functional American Bullies and even APBT in protection/guard work. But here's an idea if you got game dogs you got one half of the recipe needed to create a bandog. Find a high quality working bred, possibly titled, pure, female English Mastiff or Neapolitan Mastiff and put your most intense, most driven APBT stud dog over her. The resulting litter should speak for itself. Stick to first generation 50/50 crosses.

^^That was full blown retarded, IMO. Encouraging people to mix breeds with a working bulldog is about as retarded as it gets.
