Yes it is absolutely Illegal everywhere in the USA. Although there is a loophole to a lot of laws and 2 guys I know in Desmoines just got off state charges from the way the Iowa law is written...Might I add I looked over all 50 states and this is the only one to have this in it and worded in such an obvious way can you find it. I'd hope you can. Also these were all and only State charges and they still could be charged by the feds if someone in the court system files proper papers etc im sure...Still funny thiugh IMO and will probaly soon be changed now...

Dogfighting is ILLEGAL in all 50 states. The only difference is that in a select handful, the charge is a misdemeanor instead of a felony.

However, here in Louisiana, cockfighting is LEGAL.

    Maybe he got confused?

Iowa is one of the last 3 states where it is only a misdemeanor and in my last post the guys in Desmoines got off state charges by claiming the right under Exemptions for "Consent of owner" which their Lawyers successfully defended and used to drop all state charges by saying the men had each others permission and Consent...The court could do nothing due to the way the law was written. I am suprised nobody saw that right away.

Cockfighting is legal in Louisiana and New Mexico. The closest favorite places where dogfighting is legal is the Phillipenes.Lots of big tymers head that way.

Yeah it was legal in Croatia too until just a few weeks ago when all their laws changed to reflect European laws as they entered as a country. Right on the fumes of my plane as I left with some dogs...lol...the philipines from what I hear is the last hope if you want to move there or travel a lot with dogs which I think would dumb....Id just move there.

Maybe Tosas and if so probaly gamedogs but the Japanese are so weird when they handle their Tosas...just a judge in a cage... no handlers... until they call for them...WHEN BOTH DOGS QUIT...lol... I couldn't imagine them with a gamedog...and they're so little and quite...I couldnt imagine it still being legal... it has to be illegal there IMO. But I dunno.

  10. No question is a stupid question. The people that ask questions are the ones looking to better themselves by gaining knowledge about something unknown to them. Therefore no matter how "stupid" your questions may be, there is always someone looking to help.

You have to give the Japenese their credit for being able to breed silent fighters. Can u imagine a silent dogfight. Screamers are eliminated. Yes dogfighting is illegal in Japan. Tosas are huge and quiet/calm, but also brave and fearless. I cant say who would win between a Japenese Tosa and an American Game Dog. But I can say it must take a hell of a dog with a huge heart to get beat without making a noise...

Whats the purpose of a ''silent'' dog if its too big and lazy to really do anything. The Tosas I've seen are a joke, they routinely just quit about 30 mins in to catch their breath face to face, I've seen them just stop and sit down in the middle of a match, they arent the least bit game....Nothing beats a pitbull, its the undisputed champion hands down, even at huge weight disadvantages. Sure, there have been times when a tosa beat pits but not a good pit and the only time they have a chance is if they can put such a damage on the other dog in the first few minutes that it has to be called, let it get passed 15 mins, and a game dog will always beat a short-winded fat curr that cant move.

Our breed is shipped to japan all the time..From what I understand they like dogs that bite real real hard and wont make a sound. If the dog is a screamer in the corner they don't want it. That kind of dog is no use to them. That is what a man told me last week when he contacted me wanting to get a dog to have shipped to japan. I told him I didnt know anything about that.

Weird... some of the best dogs I ever saw started screaming bloody murder in the corner when their friend was no longer in sight...I would think they would like any dog that performed whether it was quite or not if it still had a mouth and could close it. I would think to tell them I knew nothing too.

Tosas HAVE won over APBT's. It's just not that common. When they did/do win, it's always under 30 min. If it goes longer than that, the the ball is in the APBT's court.

someone was telling me he used to have some japanese dog that had won over a hundred matches it was some weird name that i can't spell or pronounce truth or not who knows and supposedly quite a few were pit bulls

  18. misterdogman

    misterdogman CH Dog

Well then lets give them credit where credit is due...Japanese Tosas now recieve credit for being quite/silent fighters...Now to continue with the thought...Gamedogs now recieve credit for being whatever the hell they want no matter how loud they are as long as they are game and better than Tosas...which they are...Tosas are not gamedogs...any dog that stops on its feet even if tired is not game...which Tosas do regularly in every match...So courage and silence and whatever else takes a back seat...to look at the records of what people have heard about Tosas VS Gamedogs just read some old stories...the bias is evident of what the outcome will be 95% of the time... regardless of what size or strength the Gamedog is pushing against...
