No Love for Colby Dogs Anymore??

Hemphill blood is in bad shape but just like Colby blood not gone in working form.

 

I know there are a hand full of people that own the last remnants of Hemphill. It's on the verge of extinction.

 

That I agree with. At least in working form.But, Thay are still out there .

 

I don`t have a Pit as i`m English and might move back there sometime but if I was going to get one i`d definately want a Colby.

 

This has zero to do with anything other than one fella going in circles and circles for the entire thread and saying the same stuff in different ways, as rally said it wasnt even a debate.

i definitely intend on purchasing a colby dog sometime once i get into a bigger place. with this new puppy ive got coming i dont have any more room for dogs but soon.....soon.

 

Heinzl started with old type colby dogs... And dont forget Tudor and Heinzl were good frends.. Tudor got Dibo from Heinzls yard and was again in our world in 50tht years. I never forget the dog... Tedy! He was last on the yard Ronnie Anderson. Who bred was by Heinzl. Black tan dog!

 

Their's a guy from Fish Hook,that now live's in ATL he has some he has some good working Colby blood pure an cross,his crosses are with some Six Bit's blood.There are some Chinaman,Sixbits an Colby crosses here that are do'in ok for their owners.

 

They are some nice outcrossses but i like the cross with sixbit much more!

 

The people saying colby blood line is not a fastlane bloodline most my not be.or my be I do not have a colby dog I have allways wanted one and it seems hard to get one Ive been looking for breeders for a long time I no lou is where to go but what I here there is a long waiting list.from the peds ive seen they are close family bred if you take the colby line and cross it you will get a fastlane bulldog that is the way you get good hunting dogs and then bring that cross back to the colby line and tigghting it back up . by lou keeping them so close is a good thing like people say it is the foundation of all bloodline of to day some way or a nother.and if colby had scatterbred them then we would not have a true colby gene to work with today if anyone has some colby blood that they breed pm me cause i would really like to have two of them for my yard

 

Who the hell cares if people on a message board don't have any love for Colby dogs? Obviously, plenty of people do have love for them since Louis is able to charge a pretty penny for a pup. You're feeding your hounds, not anyone else, keep whatever blood you want to.

to the original poster deepsouth, the Colby bloodline is still producing quality working dogs with good temperaments, athleticism, power, and big hearts. anybody that will tell you anything different has probably never owned one or is just flat out lying.

just like any of the other quality strains out there you will get dogs that dont make the grade but when theyre right theyre RIGHT...and dont believe that other business about they have to be crossed either (although they do cross really well with other good bloodlines) its all about being selective and not just pairing animals because of a name on some paperwork.

I know of a pure colby dog who by all accounts is a gr. ch. with no outs and believe me he is the real deal. Will respect the dog and the owner.

 

I wish I was in a situation to buy one right now, but I'm a few months out to a year as I don't want to inundate my 14 year old pit with a puppy. Those are some damned fine looking dogs though, I'd love to have any of them. :dogstare:

 

who gives a shit how there bred if they have all the tools to do the job. folks will say what they want about shit they don't feed. it's the man behind the dog that's the biggest factor. good dogmen with a half honest colby dog will hert your feeling about what you feed'n.
