Honestly best fried chicken I ever had would be Homecoming at the family church also best food .All the ladies get together and bring a different dish.Fried chicken is fried by the older ladies in a cast iron skillet.Nothing compares to it.Fried chicken in a cast iron skillet done by the right hands can't be beat .

Most of your big restaurants have commercial fryers to speed up cooking .Shit don't even come close to the old way in a cast iron skillet

 

Bama you ever had gus's fried chicken they got one in Birmingham I believe.

 

I haven't tried that one.

 

If ever in that area you won't be disappointed at all.

 

I very rarely travel North these days but I do have a couple cousins in that area I'll prob be visiting.

 

Stooop older ladies and skillets and fried chicken. I cant take it man all i got is big name franchise. Lots of money, fast, no soul or taste.

 

I wonder if one of them old ladies might be interested in mid 40 guy. I got decent amount of cash, 3 good game dogs, good maners, clean, good looking thats what my mother says, hard working, dont drink but i do hit the bong at least once a day. And i could make any necessary changes. ( Except get rit of the dogs) for some good soul chicken and pie and with all the fixings

Also another time i was in the states i was at some kind of steak house with my wife and the waitress asked if we wanted dessert and we said no thanks not much in sweets. Im a loyal guy been with the same woman for 36 years but when this long haired brunett said its on the house and bought out old style creamy french vanilla with a hot carmel brown cake melting into each other i was temporary stunned. Then when we were leaving she looked at us and said u looked like u really liked that in that accent. My wife looked at me and said get in the car. Man who would know good desert and a hot waitress could shut down your rational

 

What about souk food spaghetti? It's just different than the norm but very good.You have to be familiar with Soul food to understand it.
